- Click Copy next to a style, or click the text itself.
- Paste it into your bio, name, caption or comment.
Where you can use fancy text
| Platform | Works in | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Name, bio, captions, comments, Stories | Keep your searchable name in plain text | |
| TikTok | Display name, bio, captions, comments | Not in the @username |
| X | Display name, bio, posts | Each styled letter can count as 2 characters |
| YouTube | Comments, community posts, descriptions | Avoid in titles: search may not match them |
| Posts, comments, bio | Page names may reject special characters | |
| Discord and games | Nicknames, messages | Support varies by game |
Which style should you pick?
- Bold and sans bold work almost everywhere and are great for headings in a caption or a highlighted line in your bio.
- Cursive and script feel personal and elegant, popular for names and quotes.
- Gothic (Fraktur) gives an edgy, old-world look.
- Small caps and monospace look clean and modern without being loud.
- Bubble and boxed letters are playful but less readable, so keep them to one or two words.
Use fancy fonts without hurting your reach
Styled characters are different characters, not a font. Search on Instagram, TikTok and Google may not recognize them as normal words, and screen readers can read them out letter by letter. Decorate a word or two, and keep your name, niche keywords and calls to action in regular text.
Spacing your bio over several lines? The Instagram line break generator keeps your line breaks, and the invisible character page gives you blank spaces that apps don’t remove.

Frequently asked questions
How does a fancy font generator work?
It doesn’t change the font. It swaps each letter for a look-alike character from the Unicode standard, such as the mathematical bold or script letters. Because they are characters rather than formatting, you can paste them anywhere that accepts text: an Instagram bio, a TikTok name, a YouTube comment or a tweet.
How do I change the font in my Instagram bio?
Type your text here, click Copy next to the style you like, then open Instagram, tap Edit profile and paste it into your name or bio. The same works for captions, comments and Stories.
Why do some fonts show as boxes?
Older phones and some apps don’t include every Unicode character, so they show an empty box instead. Bold, italic and cursive styles have the widest support. If a style looks broken on one device, pick a more common one.
Are fancy fonts bad for accessibility and SEO?
They can be. Screen readers may read each styled letter as a math symbol, or skip it, and search engines may not match the text to normal words. Use fancy fonts for a few words of decoration, and keep your name, keywords and important information in normal text.
Can I use these fonts on TikTok, X and Facebook?
Yes. Most platforms accept Unicode characters in names, bios and posts. Some apps limit special characters in usernames (the @handle), so use them in your display name instead.
Is my text stored?
No. The text is converted in your browser and never sent anywhere.
