About these symbols

Kaomoji (顔文字, “face characters”) are read upright, unlike Western smileys like :-) that you read sideways. They mix Japanese characters and symbols, so they show on every phone without emoji.

How to use them

  1. Click a symbol: it is copied.
  2. Open your app (Instagram, TikTok, Word, Discord…).
  3. Paste it where you want it.

Symbols are characters, not images: they follow your text size and, for text symbols, your text color. Colored emoji (like 💖) keep their own colors. Want styled letters too? Try the fancy font generator.
