What is underline text?
Underlined text uses a combining low line (U+0332) added to every letter. It draws a line under the text that stays when you copy and paste it into captions, bios and comments.
How to use the underline text generator
- Type or paste your text in the box.
- Your text appears instantly in each style.
- Click the styled text or the Copy button.
- Paste it into Instagram, TikTok, Discord, X, YouTube or any app.
Where to use it
- Underline a key word in a caption
- Titles in a YouTube description
- Headings inside a long post
- Notes and study posts
Tips for a clean result
- The line can look broken between letters on some fonts. That is normal.
- Double underline is stronger: use it for one or two words.
- Do not underline links: people expect underlined text to be clickable.
Why it works everywhere
Apps cannot change the font of your bio or caption, but they all display Unicode, the universal list of characters used by every phone and computer. This tool swaps each normal letter for a styled Unicode character. The result is text, not an image, so it can be copied, pasted and edited like any other words.

Frequently asked questions
Can you underline text on Instagram?
Not with a button, but yes with Unicode: copy the underlined version here and paste it.
Why does the underline look dotted?
Each letter gets its own small line. Depending on the app font, there can be tiny gaps between them.
Is it free and private?
Yes. The text is converted in your browser. Nothing is sent or stored.
